- No. Our templates are layered Photoshop® files, NOT software.
- Are the templates customizable?
- Yes! Templates are layered Photoshop® files, so you can edit it them to fit your specific design needs.
- How do I use the templates?
- Drag and drop your images into each template, and play the clipping action (included with the templates) to set them in each spot. Step-by-step instructions come with each download to walk you through the process. You may also watch a short how-to tutorial.
- Do I need Photoshop®?
- Yes, you'll need Photoshop® CS or newer installed on your computer. A basic knowledge of working with Photoshop® layers is highly recommended.
- What size are the album templates?
- Each square template set will come with 2 folders of templates; one containing a set of templates sized specifically for AsukaBook, and another folder containing a set of templates sized for other album companies at 300 dpi. The AsukaBook layouts include 12x12, 10x10, 8x8, 7x7, and 5x5 sizes. The other set of templates (300 dpi, to be used for other album companies) includes 10x10 and 8x8 sizes.
- Are cover templates included?
- Cover templates are not included, as each album company offers a variety of cover options. Once you decide on a cover option, simply download the cover template from the album vendor you will be using.
- Can the templates be used for any album company?
- Each template set comes with 2 folders of templates; one containing a set of templates sized specifically for AsukaBook, and another folder containing a set of templates sized for other album companies at 300 dpi. The templates are compatible with ASA, Couture Book, Cypress, Leather Craftsmen, Queensberry, Iris, KISS, White Glove, Bay Photo, White House Custom Colour (WHCC), Zookbinders, Miller's Lab, Vision Art, Black River Imaging (BRI), Finao, Album Epoca, Art Leather, West Coast Albums and more! They are not compatible with Graphi or Blurb.
- Are fonts provided with the templates?
- Due to copyright laws, we cannot provide fonts. If text is included in a template, we try to use a font that is standard with most computers. This is also your chance to add your own touch and find a font that suites your own taste!
- What color space are the templates in?
- For consistency, our templates are in Adobe RGB (1998). They can easily be converted to other color profiles in Photoshop®.
- How and when do I receive my templates after I purchase them?
- Templates are downloadable after your purchase is complete.
- How long will my download take?
- Most template downloads will complete within a few minutes. Template sets with intricate backgrounds will have larger file sizes, and may take a bit longer.
- How many times can I download the templates?
- Each template set can be downloaded a total of two (2) times.
- Can I receive a hard copy (disc) of the templates?
- We do not provide our templates on a disc. Once your product download is complete, we recommend making a hard copy as backup.
- I saved over my original templates. Can you send me a new set?
- It is solely your responsibility to save an original copy of your template set(s). If you can provide us with proof of purchase, we can resend you a set of templates for a fee of $15.
- My computer/hard drive crashed. Can you send me a new download?
- It is solely your responsibility to make a backup copy of your template set(s). If you can provide us with proof of purchase, we can send you a new download link for a fee of $15.
- Can I use the templates for anything other than albums?
- Absolutely! We encourage your creativity! Our templates can be altered in any way you wish, and can be used for a variety of products, prints, cards, gallery wraps, promotional materials, etc... the options are endless!
- Does Red Boot Design ever feature layouts created with the templates?
- We sure do! Simply send us a handful low resolution files, and a short description. We may feature your studio and/or layout on our website and/or marketing materials.
- Can I share my templates with a friend?
- No. Our templates are to be used solely by the professional photographer and /or studio who purchases them. Our products are protected by copyright, and may not be shared in whole or in part.
- Can I resell the templates?
- Our templates are designed for professional photographers and/or their studio to use in creating products for personal use, or to sell to their clients. Our products may not be claimed as your own, or resold in whole or in part to purchasers other than your own clients. Our products are protected by copyright.
